Our Human Need for Fulfillment
No matter who you are, where you live, or what you do for a living, we are all human and because of that, we all just want to be happy and experience a fulfilling life.
Yes despite the fact that in 2008 alone, an estimated 11 billion dollars (yes, accurately read, $11,000,000,000.00) was spent on some form or another of self-improvement or personal development services, people continue to experience a less-than fulfilling, less-than-optimal life from day to day.
Despite a plethora of life coaches and self-help “gurus,” many lack purpose, passion, clarity and focus to a substantial degree in their lives. A lot of coaches, resources, and products out there make you feel good, initially, but can’t sustain lasting changes and their methods don’t result in real transformation.
I’ve been through the “ringer” of self-development. It’s a process, but one I can help you through as well, especially if you feel like you’re struggling.
My Philosophy
“The greatest tragedy of humanity is not merely in those lives which are lost, but those lives lost in while still living.” – Shawn Phillips, author and entrepreneur.
At the core of my philosophy is the belief that people don’t need motivation or inspiration to begin now to achieve their goals and dreams. Motivation and inspiration are temporary emotional states and will only get you so far. Alone, they make you FEEL great for a time, but they don’t necessarily make you change, they don’t make you become the person you desire to be, or cause you to do the things you truly wish to do with your life.
I believe that we are growing towards a heightened collective consciousness, one that transcends the ego and gives rise to the collective human conscience. I also believe this is what the hype and fuss around 2012 is bringing with us.
Intuitively, the majority of people seeking insight into personal development already know this. I hope to participate in this collective transformation by sharing what unique voice I do have regarding what it takes to really embrace personal growth and spiritual development from my own standpoint and experiences.
My “system” for guiding others to conscious growth is simple, yet pragmatic. I don’t believe in a “one-size fits all” approach to personal development because we humans are so diverse; however, we are still human which means we have much in common, no matter who we are or where in this world we are from.
My system for personal development and transformation includes improving and cultivating the following aspects of consciousness:
- Self-awareness and universal awareness…
- Personal and relational development in the four primary aspects of human life…
- Conscience and intuition…
- Humility and perspicaciousness…
- Faith, hope, love and true personal power…
What matters most in life is that you believe in you. We tend to seek the validation of our worth and potential from others, from a place outside of ourselves, desiring for everyone else to notice us, to believe in us, and have confidence in who we are or who we have the ability to become. But none of that matters if we don’t have belief and confidence in our self; if we don’t notice who we are and that right now we are already more than enough to do, be, or have anything we wish.
My last 13 years in personal development and discovering my purpose and passion for life have been an up-and-down, back-and-forth, and frequently fraught with emotional anguish, inner turmoil, and personal disaster. At times, I felt as if I was on top of the world; motivated and ready to take on life, thinking I had it all “figured out.”
Other times I felt as if I was lost, dazed, and confused, trying to find myself and what I truly believed in. I seemed to always be looking to others to validate who I was as a person.
My experience has taught me much…
Altogether, the last several years of my life have lead me to where I am today, sharing my own personal insights into personal growth and life in general with others who may benefit from them.
My systems for true, meaningful life changes revolve around the following concepts.
- Develop emotional mastery. This means to be the one in control and authority of your feelings and mood, rather than giving your power over to them, allowing them to influence your choices and lifestyle. Master the how you feel first so you never succumb to the “I don’t feel like it” or the “I’m not in the mood” syndromes which affect the vast majority who live non-fulfilling lives. Don’t be average. Don’t be a victim of wavering moods and emotions, rather be victorious over them. It is possible. Seek truth and wisdom, and you will find your emotions are irrefutably well within your control.
- Strip yourself of negative, limiting, restricting beliefs. Observe your life and notice what beliefs and thoughts you have that do not serve you, then ELIMINATE them entirely. Don’t know how? Figure it out. The first step in getting what you want is making the conscious choice to change. The second step is making that conscious choice over and over again each and every day. Bottom line: Get rid of what isn’t working for you; embrace what is and stick to it. Change your beliefs, change your life.
- Transform your self from the inside out and create your world around you by conquering fear and defeating your personal demons. Everyone is afflicted by the shadows and demons of fear and self-doubt. No one is exempt. We all possess an equally powerful capacity to overcome these shadows of our egotistical self as well. Seek out methods for doing so.
- Think accurately and optimistically about your life and purpose, speak positively and powerfully about your self and your dynamic potential; and act boldly without procrastination, hesitation or fear. Action produces genius, magic, and power. Develop the courage of a brave warrior and shake off the straight-jacket that suffocates your potential. Take the time for self-discovery. Only by discovering who you truly are can you peel off the shroud of limiting beliefs that surround and suffocate you.
- Find yourself. Be yourself. Share yourself with others. No one in this world is as unique as you are. No one in this world contains within their conscious mind and deep heart, the experiences, insights, and knowledge you alone possess because no one else has lived YOUR life. You are unique. You’re a valuable individual. You have a story and a voice all your own. Get in touch with it and share it. Don’t worry about the “how” part – just get in touch with it, develop a passion for it, and the rest will work itself out.
